Warwick Academy

Margaret McCorkell

principal-warwickAs can be seen from the articles that follow in the pages of this National Salute, Warwick Academy is committed to the development of the whole person, whether as students or as faculty.

I have been very proud and privileged to lead Warwick Academy for the last 8 years, including this year of transition. I am confident I leave the school in July this year in the very capable hands of David Horan at the Head of a very strong, stable, yet innovative and progressive leadership team.

The school has seen many changes in its 353 years of existence and will continue to even greater heights as it has the support of a very active and committed Board of Governors, teaching and administrative staff, parents and the Bermuda community.

Some of the highlights of recent years have been the successes of the International Baccalaureate programme with students selected for the top universities worldwide, the introduction of the BTEC courses to provide our students with alternative career paths in hospitality, sport and business, the very successful reception year for 4 year old students along with our amazing music, drama and sporting successes. The most important highlight for me, however, is that we are a friendly school where students smile, are happy and supportive, are tolerant of each other and feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and concerns.

We are so much more than just a place to learn.
